NO FIRE IN RAJDHANI EXPRESS

NO FIRE IN RAJDHANI EXPRESS

Maligaon (Guwahati), 31st December 2013: Despite clarifications issued to all the media personnel who had contacted N. F. Railway Public Relations officials on 30-12-2013, wide sections of print and electronic media have today wrongly reported about a suspected fire in 12436 up Rajdhani Express on 30-12-2013. The Northeast Frontier Railway reiterates that there was no incident of fire in Rajdhani Express as reported. It was actually a false alarm raised by an alert Station Master of Kaithalkuchi station who had mistaken the red LED light of the Speed Sensor located in the under gear of a coach as a spark of fire and stopped the train. The train was checked at Kaithalkuchi station and again at at Rangiya by officials who allowed it to run after confirming that nothing untoward had occured.
