Nine railway staff namely Shri Prasant Kr Modak, Md Akramul Haque, Shri Buddhi Ram Basumatary, Shri Lakshmi Thakur, Shri Amit Kr Singh, Shri Ashok Kr Modi, Shri Chandan Kumar, Shri Sujit Prasad and Shri Khageshwar Singh were awarded today by Shri Lokesh Narayan, Addl. General Manager, N.F.Railway for showing exceptional devotion towards duty.
Shri Prasant Kr Modak (Loco Pilot) and Md Akramul Haque (Asst Loco Pilot) based at New Jalpaiguri while on duty by 02261 express train on 27.05.2017 detected rail fracture and controlled their train at KM 216/6 between Adina and Eklakhi stations thereby averting a major mishap. Both of them were awarded with a cash award of Rs. 2,000/- each today by the Addl. General Manager in recognition of their meritorious service.
Shri Buddhi Ram Basumatary Station Suptd of Kokrajhar station while on duty on 09.09.2017 detected hot axle in wagon no SEBCN 108141 of a goods train and took immediate steps to stop the train. Thus a probable accident could be averted. In recognition of his devotion towards duty, Addl. General Manager N.F.Railway awarded him with “Man of the month September – 2017” certificate along-with a cash award of Rs. 5,000/- today.
Shri Lakshmi Thakur, Sr Section Engineer/Loco/Katihar and Shri Amit Kr Singh Chief Loco Inspector/Katihar, Shri Ashok Kr Modi Station Manager / Katihar and Shri Chandan Kumar Pointsman / Katihar showed alertness during a fire incident in earth mover machine in line no 8 at Katihar yard on 17.09.2017 and shifted two engines in the vicinity of the fire, thus averted major mishap. In recognition of their devotion towards duty Addl. General Manager, N.F.Railway awarded them with “Man of the month September – 2017” certificate along-with a cash award of Rs. 5,000/- each today.
Shri Sujit Prasad (Loco Pilot) and Shri Khageshwar Singh ( Sr Asst Loco Pilot) based at Alipurduar Jn while on duty on a goods train suddenly observed a big elephant on railway track at KM 29/4-5 between Sevok and Gulma station on 23.10.2017. They immediately stopped the train by applying emergency brake thereby saved the elephant and a probable derailment. In recognition of their service and devotion towards duty Addl. General Manager N.F.Railway awarded them with “Man of the month October – 2017” certificate along-with a cash award of Rs. 5,000/- each today.
